“World War I in Documents” Exhibition in Ljubljana (Slovenia)

The Russian State Art Library opened an exhibition “World War I in Documents” in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Ljubljana.

Information about such an exhibition brought a big resonance among the Slovenian audience. Representatives of the Russian-Slovenian Friendship Society, historians, artists, publishers, teachers and students, translators and off-springs of the World War I veterans came from different towns and cities of the country to attend the exhibit's launch.

Chief of the Russian Center Rifat Pateev greeted the guests.

The RSAL's director A. Kolganova in her speech presented the library as a cultural institution with rich funds, vast practice of working with the artistic environment and  big experience of collaborative projects.

Chief of the Visual Information Center E. Khaplanova acquainted visitors with the exhibit. The war was illuminated from different sides. Battle scenes, military life, patriotic propaganda, charity, life in captivity of not only Russian, but also of ally countries soldiers were shown in post cards, photographs, and letters.

The exhibition devoted to the World War I became another RSAL's educational project which shows the richness of the Russian cultural heritage and connects different cultures, nations and generations.

The exhibition is expected to be open for 10 days.
