That day was a plenary meeting plus the sessions - “The history of a building. Practical Aspects” and “Study, tell, and show. How the history of building can become the history of people”. The sessions were dedicated to the methods of searching the information about a building, the problems and ways to solve them, experience of working with travel agencies and the organization of excursions to nearby territories and off-site lectures.

The study of the history of buildings includes not only the collecting of the important information but also the ability to present it. It deals with the ability to share the knowledge, attract attention to the object of the study, to expand the circle of partners and the audience, to invent and implement a project. The representatives of the culture institutions, civic organizations and initiatives shared their profound experience in creating such projects and making them substantial and interesting along with minimal expenses.

The speakers at the sessions were architects, historians, local history experts, museum specialists, librarians and guides.

By way of combining the experience of the participants of the Conference the hosts made their first step towards the creation of a manual for researching the history of a building.

In the framework of the Conference O. Babaeva, Senior Bibliographer, held an authorial excursion inside the building of the Russian State Art Library – architectural monument belonging to the end of the 18th century.
